Visakka’s proud founder Mr. C. Soundararaj had noticed a serious dearth in decent and hygienic hotels in and around Palani. The inadequacy in Palani’s hospitality was quite an unexpected one, considering that thousands of visitors throng the famous Murugan temple here. Yet there was indeed this serious shortage of good hotels in the area, especially hotels that maintained strict hygiene standards. Visakka’s The Amethyst was born of the desire to address this issue.
Today a reality, Visakka’s The Amethyst is comfortably nestled amidst the wild greenery of the Western Ghats. Its locational proximity to Palani Hill ensures that guests get great views of the temple right from their rooms too. Along with a pleasant and comfortable stay, our Palani hotel promises top class service that’s attuned to guest needs and two world class restaurants that maintain the strictest food safety standards.
Currently, Visakka’s is run by two experienced leaders, namely Mr. C. Soundararaj himself, and his son and partner Mr. Navin Kumar. The father son duo not only lend their talent and experience to the hotel’s operations, but they also balance old values with fresh, new ideas to make your experience here an unforgettable one.
Visakka’s The Amethyst also had the backing of Mr. G. Chinnadurai, Mr. Navin’s grandfather. Mr. Chinnadurai was a well respected local politician and was an active member of DMK party. He had also been elected as the chairman of Palani Hill Temple for a phenomenal 3 times! He was quite well known in Palani as well as a neighbouring village Neikarapatti. Despite his achievements, Mr. Chinnadurai was a simple and humble man who was energetic and hardworking. Today, we run our hotel with the same qualities and values that he left behind as a legacy.
A team of courteous, trained and approachable staff, a lot of whom are industry veterans, help to keep the hotel’s atmosphere friendly and welcoming. Each of Visakka’s operational crew hold themselves personally accountable for your guest experience and this is exactly how we change the dynamics of hospitality here.
